This small leather fragment contains the Song of Moses from Deuteronomy 32, written in an extremely tiny script typical of ancient Jewish tefillin (phylacteries). Because Deuteronomy 32 is not typically found in standard tefillin, some scholars suggest this manuscript may have served as a protective amulet. Additionally, the scribe wrote the final verses perpendicular to the main body of text to fit it onto the narrow strip of parchment.
