This beautiful 4th-century Greek manuscript of the Book of Daniel was remarkably preserved by being recycled into the stiffened book cover (or 'cartonnage') of an early Coptic Christian Bible. Discovered in Upper Egypt near the ancient city of Hermopolis Magna, it serves as a wonderful early witness to the Greek transmission of the prophet Daniel during the late antique Christian monastic era.
