Ephesians 4:10
"He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)"
If Jesus fills all things, does He fill Hell? (Ephesians 4:10)
> He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe. (Ephesians 4:10)
Some ask how Hell can be eternal separation from God if Jesus ultimately fills all things, assuming He must fill Hell as well.
This is an argument that misuses the phrase "all things". We must not define "things" in terms of overliteralistic particulars, as opposed to broad categories. Furthermore, in historic Christianity, while God is omnipresent, the experience of His presence differs. Hell is often understood as the experience of God's presence by those who have rejected Him, experienced as a purifying fire rather than joyful illumination.
