8Q1 is an early Herodian copy of the Book of Genesis, containing surviving fragments from chapters 17 and 18, which describe God's covenant with Abraham. Discovered in 1957 within Qumran Cave 8, it is one of the rare biblical texts recovered from this unique cave. The manuscript is carefully written on parchment using a classic square Hebrew script.
