A skeptic argues that not all families of the earth have been blessed through Abraham's descendants (the Jews), asserting that much of humanity does not accept Jesus as savior, and pointing to historical and religious strife.

However, as Christians believe the Gospel is true, it has been a blessing to all nations, as people from every nation have come to Christ. The text does not say Abraham will be a blessing to every individual. Furthermore, there is another aspect to this prophecy. Even in a temporal sense, Abraham's descendants have contributed greatly to the human race by their many contributions to banking, economics, law, government, the arts, science, and medicine.
