It is asked how Moses could have believed in Christ. In Christian theology, the prophets and righteous figures of the Old Testament looked forward to the coming Messiah. Christ Himself stated that Moses wrote about Him (John 5:46). Moses encountered the pre-incarnate Christ (the Word) in the burning bush and the giving of the Law, and looked forward to the ultimate fulfillment of the Messianic hope, a tradition all Jews carried ever since the prophecy of Jacob in Genesis 49:10.
