Jeremiah 10:2
"Thus says the Lord, Learn you⌃ not the ways of the heathen, and be not alarmed at the signs of the sky; for they are alarmed at them, [falling] on their faces."
Does Jeremiah 10:2 contradict the Gospels on signs in the heavens?
Skeptics sometimes cite this verse as contradicting the warning of signs in the heavens found in the Gospels:
> Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. (Jeremiah 10:2)
However, there is no conflict here. Jeremiah specifically instructs Israel not to be dismayed (terrified or engaging in pagan astrology) by celestial phenomena, as the heathen are. It is not an injunction against observing or recognizing prophetic signs designated by God.
