Luke 24

Luke 24:42

"They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish;"
Does Jesus asking for fish prove he is a Piscean sun god?

Proponents of astrological origins for Christianity claim that Jesus is a "Piscean fish god," arguing that this is why, upon his resurrection, he asks, "Have you any meat?" (Luke 24:41) and is given a piece of a broiled fish. They claim this established the communion food of the new astrological age. In reality, the Greek word used in Jesus' request is brosimos, which simply means "meat" or "edible food" in general, acting as a synecdoche for anything to eat. Furthermore, there is no historical evidence of fish being used as the elements in early Christian communal meals or the Eucharist. The later Catholic custom of eating fish on Fridays is a completely separate and irrelevant tradition.
