11Q Psalms c
Discovered in 1956 in the famous Cave 11 at Qumran, 11Q7 is an ancient parchment copy of the Book of Psalms. The manuscript is written in an elegant Early Herodian script, dating it to around the time of the First Century. Interestingly, the scribes copied these poetic and musical compositions in a continuous prose layout rather than dividing them into poetic lines, providing a fascinating glimpse into how sacred texts were visually organized in the ancient world.
3Q Psalms
A small Hebrew parchment fragment of the Book of Psalms discovered in Qumran Cave 3 in 1952. Dating to the Herodian period (late 1st century BC to mid-1st century AD), it preserves a portion of Psalm 2 (verses 6–7) written in a neat square script, representing one of the early physical witnesses to the Psalms.
Codex Vaticanus
Codex Vaticanus is one of the oldest and most valuable surviving manuscripts of the complete Greek Bible. It has been securely housed in the Vatican Library since at least the late 15th century and is celebrated for its elegant script written on very high-quality vellum.
Codex Sinaiticus
Codex Sinaiticus is one of the most celebrated and important books in the world. Handwritten well over 1,600 years ago, it contains the Christian Bible in Greek, including the oldest surviving complete copy of the New Testament. Originally discovered at St. Catherine's Monastery at the foot of Mount Sinai, its surviving leaves are now preserved across four libraries worldwide, with the largest portion held at the British Library.
