Surah 10:37
10.37 – This Qur ’ ān is not is not the kind (of Book) that it could have been forged apart from God
The Quran makes many claims for itself and its messenger. The audience says that the messenger is simply inventing his recitations (v. 38). The accusation of human forgery or “inventing” appears at least seventeen times in the Quran. Verse 37 preempts that accusation with an assertion that this is impossible. See the discussion on verses that accuse the messenger of inventing at 69.44. On the word qur ’ ān , see the comment at 2.185.
Also in this verse, the Quran claims a relationship of confirmation or attestation with the pre-Islamic scriptures. See the analysis of this claim at 46.12.
