Surah 10

Surah 10:68

"They say, ‘God has taken a son.’ Glory to Him! He is the wealthy One. To Him (belongs) whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. You have no authority for this (claim). Do you say about God what you do not know?"

10.68 – They say: “ God has taken a son. ” Glory to Him! He is the wealthy One
The expression, “Allah has taken a son,” appears ten times in the Quran. Here it is not clear who “they” are, but the context does not seem to have Christians in mind. In any case, the Quran is clear in its response: this expression is a lie against Allah (v. 69) because Allah is sovereign over the universe and is the “wealthy One.”
Muslim commentators on the Quran took this to mean that Allah is sufficient in himself and has no need of anything. In this sense for Allah to “take a son” would mean that he needed help or a partner (v. 66). See “Son of God in the Quran”.
