Surah 10:90
"And We crossed the sea with the Sons of Israel, and Pharaoh and his forces followed them (out of) envy and enmity, until, when the drowning overtook him, he said, ‘I believe that (there is) no god but the One in whom the Sons of Israel believe. I am one of those who submit.’"
10.90 – when the drowning overtook him, he said, “ I believe that (there is) no god but the One in whom the Sons of Israel believe
Pharaoh repents at the last moment and God rescues him (vv. 90–92). This surprising plot twist seems to echo a detail in some Jewish rabbinic writings. Pharaoh’s confession of faith is very close to the Islamic confession of faith ( lā ilāha illā ’ lladhī . . .).
