104.3 – He thinks that his wealth will make him last
For the third time in this series of short sūras, the wealthy are in the spotlight (also 100.8; 102.1). This verse seems to imply that they take pride in their wealth and therefore perhaps see no need for God. Their destiny is the “Fire of Allah” (v. 6), here also called al-Ḥuṭama (vv. 4-5).
