"Say: ‘You disbelievers!"
Worshipping the Same God
Supporting Verses
Surah 109:2 → "I do not serve what you serve,"
Surah 109:3 → "and you are not serving what I serve."
Opposing Verses
Surah 29:46 → "Do not dispute with the People of the Book except with what is better – except for those of them who do evil. And say: ‘We believe in what has been sent down to us, and what has been sent down to you. Our God and your God is one, and to Him we submit.’"
Surah 2:139 → "Say: ‘Do you dispute with us about God, when He is our Lord and your Lord? To us our deeds and to you your deeds. We are devoted to Him."
Does the Quran state that Muslims and non-Muslims worship the same God? Some verses, directed at the People of the Book, state that their God and the Muslims' God is one. In contrast, another passage directed at disbelievers explicitly states that they do not worship what the Muslims worship.
