Surah 11:120

"Everything We recount to you from the stories of the messengers (is) what We make firm your heart with, and by this means the truth has come to you, and an admonition, and a reminder to the believers."

The Quran directly addresses the messenger to tell him that one of the main purposes of the “punishment narratives” in the sūra is to encourage him.
