"Ask forgiveness from your Lord, (and) then turn to Him (in repentance). Surely my Lord is compassionate, loving.’"

11.90 – my Lord is compassionate, loving

Shu‘ayb urges the people of Midian to respond appropriately to their Lord, describing the Lord as kind or “loving” (wadūd). This description comes once more in the Quran at 85.14. See “The Language of Love in the Quran”.
