Surah 110

Surah 110:3

"glorify your Lord with praise, and ask forgiveness from Him. Surely He turns (in forgiveness)."

110.3 – and ask forgiveness from Him
If the link between verse 1 and 48.1 is feasible, it is interesting to note that 48.2 continues, saying, “that Allah may forgive you what is past of your sin and what is (still) to come.” Both 48.2 and 110.3 address a single person, understood to be the messenger. If so, why is the messenger to ask forgiveness of his Lord immediately after the triumph? See a discussion of the requests of prophets and messengers for forgiveness at 48.2.
