Surah 13:27
"Those who disbelieve say, ‘If only a sign were sent down on him from his Lord?’ Say: ‘Surely God leads astray whomever He pleases and guides to Himself whoever turns (to Him).’"
13.27 – Surely God leads astray whomever He pleases
The free will of humans to choose the right path, on the one hand, and the authority of Allah to determine their steps, on the other, are important themes in the Quran that many readers – including Muslims – have found contradictory (see also v. 33; 14:4; 16:95; 17:97).
