Surah 16:122
"We gave him good in this world, and surely in the Hereafter he will indeed be among the righteous."
16.120–23 – Surely Abraham was a community obedient before God – a Ḥanīf
Here “community” translates the Arabic term umma , which Muslims understand to mean the community of Islam. Ḥanīf is often taken to mean “upright” or “of pure faith.” On Ḥanīf , see the comment at 2.135. The Quran recommends the character of Abraham as an example for the messenger to follow.
