Surah 16:28
"those who – the angels take them (while they are doing) themselves evil.’ They will offer peace: ‘We were not doing anything evil.’ ‘Yes indeed (you were)! Surely God is aware of what you have done."

In this verse Droge translates the Arabic verb tawaffā as “take” (also in v. 32), adding “in death” in a footnote. Several Muslim translations give “cause to die” or similar expressions related to death at both verses (e.g., Pickthall, Shakir, Sahih International). Yet none of these three translates tawaffā in the same way at 3.55, where ‘Īsā is the object of the verb. See the comments at 3.55.
