16.43 – just ask the People of the Reminder, if you do not know
In this verse the Quran seems to reach out to pre-Islamic revelations for support. The “People of the Reminder” seems to function like the “People of the Book,” similar to 10.94 (“ask those who have been reciting the Book before you”). The next verse goes on to claim that the “reminder” has also been sent down to the Quran’s messenger.
