Surah 16:64
"We have not sent down on you the Book, except for you to make clear their differences to them, and (We have sent it down) as a guidance and mercy for a people who believe."

The Quran addresses the messenger directly to claim that his recitations are “sent down” (also v. 89). This verse suggests that the recitations would solve some of the differences among his listeners. On differences among the People of the Book, see the comments at 98.4.
