17.90 – We shall not believe you until you cause a spring to gush forth
The audience presses the messenger for signs and wonders (vv. 90–93) before they will believe in him. The messenger answers modestly that he is a mere mortal (vv. 93–94) and that “Allah is sufficient as a witness between me and you” (v. 96).
