The Quran states that no one can change the words of Allah ( lā mubaddila li-kalimātihi ) as part of an encouragement to the messenger to recite from the Lord’s book. By this point in the Quran, readers have seen this statement in three other verses (6.34, 115; and similarly lā tabdīla li-kalimāti ’ llāh in 10.64). This statement must be taken into account when evaluating the Muslim claim that the Quran accuses the Bible of being corrupt or falsified.
