Entering Hell vs Immediate Paradise
Supporting Verses
Surah 19:71 → "(There is) not one of you (who is) not coming to it – (that) is for your Lord an inevitability decreed."
Opposing Verses
Surah 3:157 → "If indeed you are killed in the way of God, or die – forgiveness from God, and mercy, are indeed better than what they accumulate."
Surah 3:169 → "Do not think of those who have been killed in the way of God as dead. No! (They are) alive with their Lord (and) provided for,"
Surah 3:170 → "gloating over what God has given them of his favor, and welcoming the good news about those who have not (yet) joined them of those who stayed behind – that (there will be) no fear on them, nor will they sorrow."
Surah 3:171 → "They welcome the good news of blessing from God, and favor, and that God does not let the reward of the believers go to waste."
Surah 66:8 → "You who believe! Turn to God in sincere repentance. It may be that your Lord will absolve you of your evil deeds, and cause you to enter Gardens through which rivers flow. On the Day when God will not disgrace the prophet or those who believe with him: their light will run before them, and at their right (hands) [. . .], and they will say, ‘Our Lord, perfect our light for us, and forgive us. Surely You are powerful over everything.’"
Surah 9:111 → "Surely God has purchased from the believers their lives and their wealth with (the price of) the Garden (in store) for them. They fight in the way of God, and they kill and are killed. (That is) a promise binding on Him in the Torah, and the Gospel, and the Qur’ān. Who fulfills his covenant better than God? So welcome the good news of the bargain you have made with Him. That is the great triumph!"
Does the Quran state that all people, including believers and martyrs, will pass through Hell, or do some go directly to Paradise? Certain verses state that martyrs and believers are alive with God, provided for, and immediately rewarded in Paradise. Conversely, another verse asserts that every single person without exception will inevitably come to Hell as a decreed inevitability.
