Surah 2:129
"Our Lord, raise up among them a messenger from among them, to recite Your signs to them, and to teach them the Book and the wisdom, and to purify them. Surely You – You are the Mighty, the Wise.’"
2.129 – Our Lord, raise up among them a messenger from among them
Abraham’s prayer (vv. 127–29) includes a request to raise up from among his descendants a messenger. The concept of “a messenger from among them” appears again at 2.151; 3.164; 50.2; and 62.2. Muslims sometimes cite 2.129 when they claim that Muhammad’s name and/or description would be found in the Bible.
