Surah 2:130
"Who prefers (another creed) to the creed of Abraham except the one who makes a fool of himself? Certainly We have chosen him in this world, and surely in the Hereafter he will indeed be among the righteous."
2.130 – Who prefers (another creed) to the creed of Abraham except the one who makes a fool of himself?
With this question, the text shifts from narrative about Abraham to controversy and polemic concerning the identity of Abraham (vv. 130–41). The Quran claims that Abraham is a muslim (vv. 131–33, “one who submits”) rather than a Jew or Christian (vv. 135, 140; cf. 3.67).
