Surah 2:140
"Or do you say, “Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes were Jews or Christians”?’ Say: ‘Do you know better, or God? Who is more evil than the one who conceals a testimony which he has from God? God is not oblivious of what you do.’"
2.140 – Who is more evil than the one who conceals a testimony which he has from God?
The idea that someone is hiding important information – already seen at 2.42 and 77 – now repeats in a tight series of claims (vv. 140, 146, 159, 174). This verse seems to accuse someone of hiding a testimony (shahāda) about the identity of Abraham and his descendants.
