Opposing Verses

Surah 35:15 → "People! You are the ones in need of God, and God – He is the wealthy One, the Praiseworthy."
Surah 3:97 → "In it are clear signs: the standing place of Abraham. Whoever enters it is secure. Pilgrimage to the House is (an obligation) on the people to God – (for) anyone who is able (to make) a way to it. Whoever disbelieves – surely God is wealthy beyond the worlds."
Does the Quran state that God created mankind to worship Him or that God is free of all needs? Some verses command mankind to serve God because He created them, while others state that God has no need for mankind.
