Surah 2:41
"Believe in what I have sent down, confirming what is with you, and do not be the first to disbelieve in it. Do not sell My signs for a small price, and guard (yourselves) against Me."
2.41 – Believe in what I have sent down, confirming what is with you
The Quran claims revelation for itself and asserts that its contents “confirm” (muṣad
diq) that which is “with” the audience. Since this verse is addressed to the Children of Israel, 2.41 seems to claim that the recitations of the messenger confirm the Torah (tawrāt, the Pentateuch or “Books of Moses”). See the analysis of this claim at 46.12.
The Quran appeals to the Children of Israel to believe that the messenger’s recitations are “sent down” by Allah.
