Surah 2:97
"Say: ‘Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel – surely he has brought it down on your heart by the permission of God, confirming what was before it, and as a guidance and good news to the believers."
2.97 – Say: “Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel”
The name Gabriel ( jibrīl) appears three times in the Quran (also 2.98; 66.4). Here the Quran states that Gabriel reveals (nazzala) to the heart of the messenger. On the claim that this recitation confirms what “was before it,” see the comments at 46.12.
