Fate of Entities Worshipped Besides God
Opposing Verses
Surah 3:45 → "When the angels said, ‘Mary! Surely God gives you good news of a word from Him: his name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, eminent in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near."
Surah 4:158 → "No! God raised him to Himself. God is mighty, wise."
A potential conflict exists in the Quran regarding the fate of entities worshipped instead of God. One verse states that whatever is worshipped besides God will be fuel for Hell. However, other verses state that Jesus, who is worshipped by some, is highly honored, eminent, and brought near to God.
