"Those who hurl (accusations) against women of reputation, (and) then do not bring four witnesses, flog them eighty lashes, and do not accept their testimony ever (again). Those – they are the wicked,"

24.4 – Those who hurl (accusations) against women of reputation

Along with the punishment for adultery, the Quran prescribes a punishment for those who falsely accuse women of adultery. The following verses (6–9) deal with accusations that men make against their wives.
