Surah 25

Surah 25:30

"The messenger said, ‘My Lord! Surely my people have taken this Qur’ān (as a thing to be) shunned.’"

25.30 – The messenger said, “My Lord! Surely my people have taken this Qur’ān . . .”
This is the sūra’s second passage that appears to give the objections of the listeners (vv. 32a, 41–42), the complaint of the messenger (v. 30), and the reassurance of the Quran (vv. 32b–34). The brief references to the people of Noah, Moses, ‘Ād, and Thamūd (vv. 35–38) also seem to be part of the encouragement to the messenger.
On the wordqur’ān, see the comment at 2.185.
