27.54 – And Lot, when he said to his people: “Do you commit immorality . . . ?”

Lot asks his people, “Do you indeed approach men with lust instead of women?” (v. 55) and describes their intention as “immorality.” Allah decrees that the wife of Lot will stay behind (v. 57) when the “rain” begins to fall. This is the fifth of eight versions of the Lot story in the Quran.
