Surah 28:20
Show Full Scripture Context (28:20-21) — 2 Verses
And (just then) a man came running from the farthest part of the city. He said, ‘Moses! Surely the assembly is taking counsel about you, to kill you. So get out! Surely I am one of your trusty advisers.’
So he went forth from it, afraid (and) watchful. He said, ‘My Lord, rescue me from the people who are evildoers.’
{And there came a man} He is described as being a man because he had the courage to take a different route, a shorter route than those who were sent after Musa, so he reached Musa first and said to him: “O Musa,
{Verily, the chiefs are taking counsel together about you,} meaning, 'they are consulting with one another about you, to kill you, so escape.'
"So he escaped from there, looking about in a state of fear. He said: "My Lord! Save me from the people who are wrongdoers!""
