Show Full Scripture Context (28:74-75) — 2 Verses
On the Day when He will call them, and say, ‘Where are My associates whom you used to claim (as gods)?’
We shall draw out a witness from every community, and say, ‘Bring your proof!’ And then they will know that the truth (belongs) to God, and what they have forged will abandon them.
This is another call by way of rebuke for those who worshipped other gods besides Allah. The Lord, may He be exalted, will call to them before all the witnesses, and will say:
meaning, in this world.
Mujahid said, “This means a Messenger.”
meaning, 'of the truth of your claim that Allah had partners.'
meaning, that there is no god besides Him. Then they will not speak and they will not be able to find any answer.
they will vanish and will be of no benefit to them.
