Surah 29:61
"If indeed you ask them, ‘Who created the heavens and the earth, and subjected the sun and the moon?,’ they will indeed say, ‘God.’ How then are they (so) deluded?"
29.61 – If indeed you ask them, “Who created the heavens and the earth . . . ?” they will indeed say, “God.”
The point of the questions in this and the following verses seems to be that if people acknowledge Allah as creator and sustainer of the universe, they should also believe in him and serve him. Another suggestion of these verses is that Allāh is not a name that originated with Islam but was well known to those who heard the recitations.
