Those – He has written belief on their hearts, and supported them with a spirit from Him, and will cause them to enter Gardens through which rivers flow, there to remain. God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. Those are the faction of God. Is it not a fact that the faction of God – they are the ones who prosper?"

Opposing Verses

Surah 17:23 → "Your Lord has decreed that you do not serve any but Him, and (that you do) good to your parents, whether one or both of them reaches old age with you. Do not say to them, ‘Uff,’ and do not repulse them,"
Surah 31:15 → "But if they both struggle with you – to make you associate with Me what you have no knowledge of – do not obey them. Keep rightful company with them in this world, but follow the way of the one who turns to Me (in repentance). Then to Me is your return, and I shall inform you about what you have done.’"
Surah 6:151 → "Say: ‘Come! I will recite what your Lord has forbidden to you: Do not associate anything with Him, and (do) good to parents, and do not kill your children because of poverty – We shall provide for you and them – and do not go near (any) immoral deeds, neither what is obvious of them nor what is hidden, and do not kill the person whom God has forbidden (to be killed), except by right. That is what He has charged you with, so that you may understand."
Does the Quran instruct believers to maintain amicable relations with disbelieving parents or forbid associating with them? Some verses command goodness, kindness, and keeping rightful company with parents in this world, even if they attempt to coerce believers into polytheism. Conversely, other verses forbid taking disbelieving fathers and brothers as allies, or loving those who oppose God.
