Surah 3:151
"We shall cast dread into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they have associated with God what He has not sent down any authority for. Their refuge is the Fire. Evil is the dwelling place of the evildoers!"
3.151 – We shall cast dread into the hearts of those who disbelieve
In the midst of a battle scene, the Quran states that Allah casts terror or “dread” (ru‘b) into the hearts of unbelievers. This expression repeats at 8.12; 33.26; and 59.2. According to this verse, Allah acts in this way because those who “disbelieve” associate partners with Allah. See the discussion of terror and terrorizing at 59.2.
