Surah 3:81

<p class="footnote" id="pz95-9">This verse says that Allah made a covenant with the prophets in the past to believe in and help a messenger to come in the future, and that the prophets agreed. Muslims understand the unnamed messenger to be Muhammad.</p>
<p class="footnote" id="pz95-10">The Quran frequently claims that the recitations of the messenger confirm (<em>muṣaddiq</em>) that which is “with” the People of the Book. See the analysis of this claim, and a response, at 46.12.</p>
