Surah 30

Surah 30:24

"(Another) of His signs (is that) He shows you lightning – in fear and desire – and He sends down water from the sky, and by means of it gives the earth life after its death. Surely in that are signs indeed for a people who understand."

Verse 24

(Another) of His signs (is that) He shows you lightning – in fear and desire – and He sends down water from the sky, and by means of it gives the earth life after its death. Surely in that are signs indeed for a people who understand.

Verse 25

(Another) of His signs is that the sky and the earth stand (fast) by His command. Then, when He calls you out of the earth once and for all, suddenly you will come forth.

Allah says,

{And among His signs} which speak of His greatness,

Quoted Scripture
"He shows you the lightning, for fear and for hope,"

dead will come forth from their graves, brought back to life by His command and His call to them,

Quoted Scripture
"Then afterwards when He will call you by a single call, behold, you will come out from the earth."

This is like the Ayat.

On the Day when He will call you, and you will answer with His praise and obedience, and you will think that you have stayed but a little while!

But it will be only a single Zajrah! When behold, they find themselves on the surface of the earth alive after their death., and

It will be but a single Sayhah! so behold they will all be brought up before Us!.

About this Source & Scholarly Authority (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

Universal Sunni Consensus: Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Azim by Hafiz Ibn Kathir (701–774 AH / 1301–1373 AD) is universally regarded across all major schools of Sunni Islam (traditional, Salafi, Ash'ari) as the most authoritative classical exegesis. It is prized because it relies on Tafsir bil-Ma'thur—interpreting the Quran using the Quran itself, authentic Hadiths of Prophet Muhammad, and recorded statements of the early Companions (Sahabah).

Standard English Edition: This text is from the standard 10-volume English abridgment published by Dar-us-Salam Publications (supervised by Shaykh Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri), which is the official, most widely distributed English Quranic commentary in mosques and Islamic libraries worldwide today.
