32.23 – Certainly We gave Moses the book
Wherever the Quran names the pre-Islamic scriptures or – as in this verse – the Torah by another name, it always describes them in the most positive and respectful terms. Here the Torah is “a guidance for the Sons of Israel.” This passage is also positive about the Sons themselves (v. 24), but mentions that they differ and says that Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection (v. 25).
