35.45 – If God were to take the people to task for what they have earned, He would not leave on it any living creature
This verse seems to refer to a concept of a holy God according to whom the deeds of humankind deserve punishment (also at 16.61). Here Allah defers judgment until “an appointed time” but does not offer a way to deal with that “burden” (v. 18) before the Day of Resurrection.
