Surah 35:45
"If God were to take the people to task for what they have earned, He would not leave on it any living creature. But He is sparing them until an appointed time. When their time comes – surely God sees His servants."
35.45 – If God were to take the people to task for what they have earned, He would not leave on it any living creature
This verse seems to refer to a concept of a holy God according to whom the deeds of humankind deserve punishment (also at 16.61). Here Allah defers judgment until “an appointed time” but does not offer a way to deal with that “burden” (v. 18) before the Day of Resurrection. See the discussion of the Quran’s view of human nature at 79.40 and “Salvation in the Quran”.
