The Fate of Noah's Family
Supporting Verses
Surah 21:76 → "And Noah – when he called out before (that), and We responded to him, and rescued him and his family from great distress."
Opposing Verses
Surah 11:42 → "It ran with them in (the midst of) wave(s) like mountains, and Noah called out to his son, since he was in a place apart, ‘My son! Sail with us and do not be with the disbelievers!’"
Surah 11:43 → "He said, ‘I shall take refuge on a mountain (that) will protect me from the water.’ He said, ‘(There is) no protector today from the command of God, except for the one on whom He has compassion.’ And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned."
Surah 11:46 → "He said, ‘Noah! Surely he is not one of your family. Surely it is an unrighteous deed. So do not ask Me about what you have no knowledge of. Surely I admonish you not to be one of the ignorant.’"
There are varying descriptions regarding whether all of Noah's family survived the flood. Some verses state that God rescued Noah, his family, and his descendants, describing them as the survivors. In contrast, other verses specify that Noah's son was among those who drowned in the waves and was excluded from the saved family members.
