Surah 4:3
"If you fear that you will not act fairly toward the orphan girls, marry what seems good to you of the women: two, or three, or four. But if you fear that you will not be fair, (marry only) one, or what your right (hands) own. That (will make it) more likely that you will not be biased."

Surah 4:129 → "You will not be able to act fairly among the women, even though you are eager (to do so). But do not turn completely away (from one of them) so that you leave her, as it were, in suspense. If you set (things) right and guard (yourselves) – surely God is forgiving, compassionate."
Does the Quran consider it possible to treat multiple wives fairly? One verse permits marrying multiple women provided the husband can treat them fairly, while another verse states that it is impossible to act fairly among women.
