Surah 11:107 → "remaining there as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord pleases. Surely your Lord accomplishes whatever He pleases."
Surah 6:128 → "On the Day when He will gather them all together: ‘Assembly of the jinn! You have acquired many of humankind.’ And their allies among humankind will say, ‘Our Lord, some of us have profited by others, but (now) we have reached our time which You appointed for us.’ He will say, ‘The Fire is your dwelling place, there to remain’ – except for whomever God pleases. Surely your Lord is wise, knowing."
Surah 78:23 → "there to remain for ages."
Does the Quran state that the punishment of Hell is strictly eternal and inescapable, or are there conditions and exceptions? Some verses state that dwellers will never escape the Fire and will remain there for eternity. Conversely, other verses indicate that they will remain there for a set number of ages, as long as the heavens and earth endure, or except as God pleases.
