"When the son of Mary is cited as an example, suddenly your people keep (others) from it,"
43.57 – When the son of Mary is cited as an example
These words begin a passage (vv. 57–64) about ‘Īsā, introduced as “the son of Mary.” In verse 58 the audience seems to mention the belief in the deity of ‘Īsā in order to argue with the messenger.
