45.16 – Certainly We gave the Sons of Israel the Book, and the judgment, and the prophetic office
This verse seems to represent a very positive view of the Children of Israel, including that they were favored “over the worlds” (see similar expressions at 2.47, 122; 3.33; 6.86; 7.140; 44.32). Along with this, however, the Quran states that the Children of Israel began to differ (v. 17) and that the Lord will sort them out on the Day of Resurrection. The Quran then instructs the messenger to follow the way he has been shown (v. 18).
