Surah 47:19
"Know that He – (there is) no god but God. Ask forgiveness for your sin, and for the believing men and the believing women. God knows your comings and goings, and your dwelling place."
47.19 – Ask forgiveness for your sin, and for the believing men and the believing women
Here the messenger is told to ask forgiveness for his sin (dhanb). This is one of a number of verses (also 40.55; 48.2) that seem to question the Islamic doctrine that all prophets are sinless or immune (ma‘ṣūm) from sin. See the analysis and response at 48.2.
